MESP represents the non-certified employees of the district. By joining your voice with our current members, you are saying that you want your voice heard. MESP negotiates with the district on behalf of our members. We address workplace concerns, salary and compensation, benefits and working conditions. Please remember the more members we have the louder our voice is.

You can be a part of the negotiations process, advocating for your coworkers when issues arise, have a say in decisions that affect your working conditions, salaries and benefits, and professional growth. We work other members on district level committees to make sure that our issues are being heard.

When you join MESP you automatically will be joining AEA and NEA, our state and national affiliates. By combining our voices with ESP’s and teachers nationwide we raise the volume on the issues that matter the most to us. In every state, NEA is a respected and known as the voice for pubic education employees. The AEA and NEA are the best sources of information on education law and state regulations and policies.
- Lobbying
We are also involved with lobbying by helping to elect friends of education to public office. Local affiliates recommend and help elect local school board members who support students and education employees.
- Professional Development.
AEA offers high quality workshops, seminars and training sessions on education topics human and civil rights, political action, communications, and negotiations. Also NEA's professional library offers the latest in education publications, teaching ideas, and practical handbooks.
- Networking.
Through the association you can connect with other ESPs from across the state and nation who are dealing with the same issues as you. You can chat through bulletin boards and forums at the members only section. You can meet to share ideas, get news, and find solutions to problems.
- Public Relations.
AEA shares the story of public education from the school employees view with media all over the state, through public school campaigns and through outreach to the community and parent groups.
- Legal Assistance.
The AEA trains leaders at schools and work sites in ways that will ensure employees are treated fairly. AEA's Organizational Consultants throughout the state advise and help school professionals with legal concerns. Our member's also benefit from AEA's attorneys who are experts in employment law and school law.

If you are sued over something that happens while you are on the job, AEA's liability insurance will provide you with an attorney and $1 million in coverage for any judgment against you.
